PORT Health continues to strive to meet the needs of our patients through this difficult time. Even though COVID is still a threat, we are now giving our patients the option to have their appointments face to face with their provider. The option for remote appointments remains, however, if you prefer to be seen in the office, you are welcome to come in. Please note that you will be required to wear a face-covering that covers the mouth and nose, maintain social distancing and your temperature will be taken as you enter. Please call ahead of your appointment and let us know which option you choose. Emergency walk-in patients will also be seen face to face if so desired.
Signifying a progressive move forward in clinical rehabilitative care, PORT Human Services is undergoing a major rebranding, beginning by renaming as PORT Health Services. While the change appears subtle, it identifies an important shift in mission and focus for the organization to provide clinical and medical services, which will support the organization’s already robust rehabilitative offerings.
The change better reflects the commitment to the people PORT Health serves and demonstrates acceptance to the idea that mental health and substance use disorders are serious medical conditions that deserve to be addressed with appropriate clinical services.
CEO, Tom Savidge reminds the public that, while their name has changed, their focus on patient care and outcomes has not. “Our name, logo and how we even market our organization will change, but our commitment to serving those in need will not,” says Savidge. “In fact we have incorporated some innovative practices that improve the overall quality of care we provide. We will treat and recognize everyone we serve as a patient not a client.”
In addition to the new name, the organization is also unveiling a new logo, tagline and website. The logo was created to elevate the brand to match the organization’s already outstanding reputation as a leader of mental health and substance use rehabilitation in eastern North Carolina. The tagline, Find Your Way Forward, serves as a motivation to patients and nods to the company’s personalized, evidenced-based care plans that provide better outcomes.
The new site serves as a resource for all members of PORT Health’s broad audience. Easy access to crisis services give people the opportunity to find the help they need quickly. Details about all of PORT Health’s services help family and friends understand the role PORT will play in the recovery, rehabilitation and habilitation of their loved one. Finally, a Provider Access section acts as a hub for referrers to find all of the necessary documents and information to refer patients to PORT Health.
